Welcome to ESAN
a social network for Social and Field Workers in Europe.

ESAN, the European Social Action Network, was created in 1991 as a non-profit European organisation by organisations from the social sector.

ESAN’s philanthropic and scientific objective is to stimulate development of a coherent social policy in Europe – based on respect of human rights, the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights, the UN Convention of Children’s Rights (in particular the recognition of the child as a legal personality) and freedom of conscience.

Focusing on the grass roots level and encouraging cross-sector cooperation, ESAN supports member institutions and their frontline workers in improving their service delivery – providing useful information on relevant EU debates, availability of EU funding for European projects, logistical help with grant applications and a reliable network of potential European partners.

ESAN also operates as a channel to highlight and widely disseminate the positive practices of its members and partners, based on their commonly shared values, together with their demands and expectations concerning the future Europe.
